This program will examine the ethical issues relating to clients with diminished capacity due to age and/or disability.

·         Overview of the rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys, the Code of Ethics for social workers, and the National Guardianship Association Standards of Practice for Registered Guardians

·         Three standards of Legal Capacity

·         The roles of attorneys, care managers, physicians and other allied professionals

Introduction

The Education Institute was established to promote and implement ethics and standards in guardianship practice by providing education and resources to families, professionals and community organizations.

Our members include attorneys, social workers, geriatric care managers, psychologists, accountants and financial planners who are knowledgeable and experienced in providing services to the elder care and disabilities communities.  The following is a small sample of some of the recent presentations made by our members:
